If you're like me, the thought of traveling international with a young child on those long-haul flights was terrifying.
But since I live overseas, it was the only way I was going to get to go home to the States with our son to see his grandparents anytime soon!
So fly we did.
We went to the States twice from Egypt before our son's first birthday, once in April 2010 and once in August 2010.
Yes, it was difficult at times. Yes, I second-guessed myself into thinking I was doing the impossible. Yes, I thought at least once on that flight "aren't we there YET?!"
Don't worry we ALL feel like that!
But I don't regret for one minute taking our son on those planes. It was an adventure (which is the only way you can really look at it when they're that age).
However, finding info on the Internet about flying with baby was even harder than the flying itself. So it didn't help that I was nervous AND I couldn't read about it anywhere else to see what worked and what didn't.
